• Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist/Director of Formulation Development

We are seeking an experienced, innovative, impactful, entrepreneurial and highly talented individual to lead our Formulation Development efforts. The candidate will lead a cross-disciplinary team of chemists, software and hardware engineers to realize our vision of building the world’s first AI-driven drug formulation platform. Cross-functional collaboration and a mind-set of innovation are critical to this role. The position will also lead projects within a broad therapeutic platform. The ideal applicant will be an experienced scientist with a strong background in formulations across various technologies, such as solutions, emulsions, solid dispersion, inclusion complexation, nanoparticles, and other delivery systems. Top applicant will possess a proven track record of leading successful development of clinical formulations.

Key responsibilities

1. Lead a team of chemists, machine learning scientist, automation engineer, and computational chemist to develop the AI-driven formulation platform

2. Lead one or more of formulation and delivery system development programs focusing on poorly soluble small molecule drugs

3. Act as the formulation/delivery subject matter expert on the broader project team focused on advancing 505(b)(2) drug candidates to clinical stage

4. Work with internal project team and CROs to supply appropriate formulations for in vivo studies

5. Generate and support generation of IP for core projects

6. Ultimately develop formulations, processes and documentation to support GLP toxicology, GMP manufacturing, and regulatory filings

Qualifications

1. Ph.D. in  related discipline with 4+ years of industry experience, or BS/MS with 8+ years of industry experience

2. Experience in designing, developing and optimizing formulation for small molecule drugs, working across various technologies, such as solution, emulsions, solid dispersion, inclusion complexation, nano-crystal, and other delivery systems

3. A proven track record of successful development of drug product

4. Proficiency with a broad spectrum of analytical techniques (i.e. PXRD, HPLC, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

5. Demonstrated ability in working with highly skilled teams in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and technical setting

6. Familiar with statistical or simulation tools

7. Highly adaptable and responsive to technical and business opportunities- comfortable delivering against challenging commitments

8. Experience with biologics, mRNA or gene therapy is a plus 

• AI Lead Scientist  

We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and highly talented individual to lead our AI effort. The candidate will work with an exciting cross-disciplinary team of formulation scientists, analytical chemists, software and hardware engineers to build AI tools (simulation and machine learning algorithms) that could be integrated into our high-throughput formulation experiment platform. The main role of the position is to build, test and iterate different AI tools under various constrains (technology, time, database, etc.) and conceptualize solutions.

 Key responsibilities

1. Work closely with formulation scientist/analytical chemist and team to understand the needs, requirements, constraints and expectations.

2. Build and validate the AI architectures regarding their adequacy and adherence to requirements.

3. Track performance of the AI models and iterate the design to achieve needed efficacy.

4. Implementing the AI models into high-throughput formulation experiment platform

5. Own support for AI related issues to project and operations team

Qualifications

1. MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physical Chemistry or related field

2. At least 3-4 years of work experience in designing and implementing AI/ML solutions

3. Strong background in commonly used simulation tools, such as first principle, classical molecular dynamics, and first-principles molecular dynamics

4. Good communication skills and team player

Preferred Qualifications

5. Previous work experience in pharmaceutical industry

6. Records of successfully implementing AI models in commercial environment

Understanding of Pharma industry context
